Porky
Porky is a charming, roughly 2-year-old pig with a sweet nature and a second chance at life. He was rescued by his current caretaker after his previous owners, who were moving to a new farm job, were not allowed to bring him along. They were devastated at the thought of him being destroyed — and thankfully, his rescuer stepped in to provide him with temporary safety and care.
Believed to be a wild pig originally caught in the Whanganui region, Porky is surprisingly tame and easygoing. Despite his wild origins, he enjoys human company and has adapted well to his current environment. He’s still growing, and his playful spirit and gentle demeanor make him a joy to be around.
In the photo, you can see Porky soaking up the sunshine — content and relaxed, a picture of peace. What he really needs now is a forever home where he can continue to thrive and grow in a safe, caring environment.
